Great British Kitchens & Interiors is a thriving, high end, bespoke kitchen and furniture company in Sevenoaks, Kent.
They came to us in late 2018 because their Google ranking had dropped following their move to a new website provider. This was having a significant impact on the number of new enquiries they received.
For example, if someone searched Google for “Sevenoaks kitchens” they were only appearing in position 8 of the search results.
They wanted to reverse this trend and get back to the top of Google with a focus on their most profitable local areas.
Our first step was to replace their website with a new one which performed better technically and provided an enhanced user experience. This included optimising the website for their key search terms.
We then began a long-term content development plan, prioritising longer, magazine-style case studies to target specific locations.
In addition, we produced more content about their products and services. This included glossary-style articles aimed at capturing ‘featured snippet’ positions. Plus, we wrote detailed content about the appliances they supply, such as BORA hobs.
For each piece of new content, we also wrote social media posts, bolstering their in-house social media activity.
For example, if someone in Sevenoaks searched for an “Ikea kitchen” the adverts wouldn’t appear. This purchaser is unlikely to have the budget for a bespoke kitchen, therefore any advert clicks would be a waste of money.

In addition, our work to target content at specific locations has put them in Google’s top 10 results for searches in other locations, including Bromley, Orpington and South London.
Strengthened position when people search for kitchen appliances
Our development of appliance-related content has ensured that Great British Kitchens & Interiors rank equally highly when someone searches for their brands. For example, they perform excellently when someone in their area Googles “Miele stockists Sevenoaks” or “Quooker supplier Kent”.
Of particular note is our work on a search strategy to increase Great British Kitchens & Interiors’ visibility when people are searching for BORA extractor hoods and cooktops.
